Oilmen's Golf Tournament marks 56 years

by Deanna Mitchener

The 56th annual Oilmen's Golf Tournament
took place at the Edson Golf Course on May 24
and 25.
The course was a little slick on May 24 as the
rain came down, making it cool for the players
and volunteers that were out. However, golfers
were there for a good time and did not let rain
spoil the tournament. By Saturday morning the
sun was out and everyone seemed to be in better
spirits.
There were a few close hole-in-one shots this
year, but this marks yet another year where no
one shot a hole-in-one in the 56 years of the
Oilmen's tournament.
Oilmen's committee member Craig Materi
said, “This is my fifth year on the committee and
things have been going really well. Our numbers
are up a bit from last year; we are up to 172 George Gligorevic with Steam Flow-Master Flow, Chancey Woods with CVS Controls, Neil Devolder
