thanks to Northern Lights Shrine Club
by Cassie Kushniruk
A new piece of medical equipment for
children has made its way to the Edson
Healthcare Centre courtesy of the Northern
Lights Shrine Club.
On June 3, the Northern Lights Shrine Club
presented a check for $8000 to the Edson
Healthcare Centre to purchase a transcutaneous
bilirubinometer - a tool that assesses the risk of
jaundice in babies.
The tool works by scanning a baby's forehead
to read the bilirubin content, says AHS Site
Manager Tracy Correia.
The Northern Lights Shrine Club, which are
made up of Edson, Drayton Valley, and a few
members from Hinton, decided to spend some
