On behalf of Joe Wynne Branch #51, we would like to extend a huge “Thank You” to all the businesses and
community members that offered their support to the 2019 Poppy Fund Campaign.

Many people asked about the Poppy Campaign and how the money that is raised is used. The primary use of the
Poppy Fund is to support those veterans and serving members of the military and RCMP and their families that
need extra help. This help can be loss of work because of an illness or an injury, loss of employment or a change
in the family dynamics leaving a family with unexpected expenses. We have also helped veterans on a limited
income with medical expenses for prescriptions not covered by medical insurance, improvements to their home
to help with mobility, transportation to medical appointments, or medical equipment that improves their way of
life.

We also provide bursaries for secondary education to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Veterans
and we sponsor the 874 Edson Tiger Moth Air Cadet Squadron.

November 24 and December 29 we will be hosting a coffee connection for all Veterans/First Responders from
Noon until 4:00 p.m.

If you are a veteran or know of a veteran in the community that we may not be aware of, please let us know so all
vets can be included in future events we organize. Please watch our Facebook page for upcoming events.

Thank you to all the businesses in our communities that proudly show their support of our veterans by accepting
poppy boxes and displaying wreaths.

Again, thank you to everyone for your support of the Poppy Campaign and we will see you at the Remembrance
Day Service.
